Trying out new apps

I'm always trying out apps. Trying to make the most of my cellphones.
On monday I downloaded an app called Blogo in order to be able to make blog posts on my Google-owned Blogger account (this very blog), that I set up BEFORE I found out that Blogger had killed off its dedicated app last year. Blogo is someone's answer to that problem. I like it fine as an app. Has a couple of annoying quirks, and I have not yet checked if it definitely
publishes to the web based Blogger account I made. (This has been a test of the "quotes" formatting.)
I will look on the computer to see if this post and this formatting carries through. Formatting is FUN!
Yesterday I downloaded an app called 2Do, in hopes it might make a good reminders app to help me remember to do things. It seems extremely overcomplex but I do really really like the ability to have very granular custom set up of individual reminder alerts. In example, I was able to set it up to remind me to "Do Laundry" with an alert at 9:00 a.m. that repeats every two days. I am now waiting to see if this alerting works as I programmed.
I also like the tagging system. Now when I go into a specific store, I can search for ONLY the items on my "All" list dump that are specifically things I need to get from that exact store. And since I can add tags for other stores to the same one item, it means I no longer need to make completely separate lists for each store and have the same item (i.e. bananas) being written out independently, several times, into several separate lists for various stores, since I do not particularly care which shop I get bananas from. Now... I only write "bananas" ONCE, and add multiple store name tags to it. So much easier!
Today I have downloaded Werdsmith. I think it is not very strong in comparison to using OneNote which has much better formatting and organizing options, for free. Werdsmith is a freemium app. You get a shitty looking basic Wordpad document treatment rather than a Word document treatment - do you know what I mean? It's very spartan and literally there are only 3 format options - bold, italics, and quote marks. You can see the format marks, it looks so raw. This Blogo app has far superior formatting options by comparison!
Werdsmith has a better looking version (the equivalent of MS Word in the metaphoric sense) but I would have to buy a subscription costing $5 a month for the ongoing permission to use the visually nicer version of the app. To hell with that! I HATE when developers do that! Dude, just charge $4 to let people download the app in the nicer formatted version and then make a bit of income on the side, by selling various themes. Flowery themes, kitty themes, dog themes, manly steel themes, wood and plant themes, and people will love your writing app! And you will get more customers who will stay loyal to your app.

Thinking about making my first ever smart home purchase

https://www.howtogeek.com/247500/how-to-set-up-your-philips-hue-lights/ I want to buy a "smart bulb", probably a Philips Hue, put it in my bedroom ceiling light fixture, and connect it with an app on my phone and program it to start slowly turning the light on over a period of an hour. I would program it to do this every school day morning to help me wake up in time for catching Ijaz's bus. It's so hard for me to wake up naturally when the weather is rainy and overcast. Also it will help me a lot during Ramadan so that I don't miss eating suhoor.

I'm worried about my boy

I worry about my son. I worry about my parenting. Sometimes I think I'm doing okay. Other times I feel a complete failure. It's so hard to protect him from the bad influences of this world. A couple of weeks ago, he translated for me, in sign language fingerspelling, what a video game player was saying in a YouTube video. My son fingerspelled the word "fucking". Yes. My 6 year old spelled that as part of the sentence. I don't even remember the rest of the sentence. I was so stunned by that one word. My boy was smiling because he thought it was very funny. He truly didn't realize this is a word that he is not supposed to know. But he very quickly dropped his smile when I said with a very specific and sharp tone of voice and face expression, "Please repeat that." He knew that wasn't my happy tone and face. He is a clever child. He then repeated the same sentence, BUT this time he wisely dropped the word "fucking" from the sentence. Kid di
