A pleasant surprise; a bit of old wallpaper peeking through the paint. Now I know what used to be in the closet area at the top of the stairs, before someone in the past history of this house made the awful decision to paint the entire staircase and closet area the horribly overbearing turquoise color you see in the photo. It's a nice color in small doses but not when it is completely surrounding you, even on the ceiling! and it's terrible for spreading the light from the one bulb.

I love the beauty of these shards of colorful pottery. I find it symbolic of how something (or someone) that is broken can still bring value and beauty to this earth.
https://www.howtogeek.com/247500/how-to-set-up-your-philips-hue-lights/ I want to buy a "smart bulb", probably a Philips Hue, put it in my bedroom ceiling light fixture, and connect it with an app on my phone and program it to start slowly turning the light on over a period of an hour. I would program it to do this every school day morning to help me wake up in time for catching Ijaz's bus. It's so hard for me to wake up naturally when the weather is rainy and overcast. Also it will help me a lot during Ramadan so that I don't miss eating suhoor.
